Dr. William and Mrs. RoseMarie Macklin: The Macklins have recently restored the Lacy Bordelon residence at 338 Florence Avenue and have transformed it into an upscale spa, a bed and breakfast, and a restaurant bringing an international slice of life and a tropical flavor to Central Louisiana. The Macklins purchased the old Lacy Bordelon home and began an adventure to breathe new life into an area of Alexandria which is under consideration for designation as an Alexandria Historic District dubbed "Mansion Row." Four notable mansions exist in a two block area of Florence Avenue and the Macklins have brought new energy, foresight and vision to this area.
